Our Winner in the Ipoh International Starwalk 2013 on June 16,2013

Lim Mooi Kiang, 63, came in second at 1:16:55 and Hah Siew Pin, 54, was third at 1:17:33.

Isn't she a familiar face in our neighbourhood?

Lim said she had not expected to do so well as she had stopped training and participating in competitive walking for a few months due to her busy schedule.

“I am jubilant over the placing and will definitely come back next year if my schedule permits,” said Lim who travelled from Petaling Jaya with her family to participate in the walk.

Our RT Newsletter for Second Quarter 2013

Hari Kesedaran Keselamatan sempena perlancaran Ronda Berbasikal olih OCPD PJ

(Safety awareness day in conjunction with the official launch of our RT bicycle patrol by OCPD PJ)

Our Safety Awareness Day will be held on Saturday 29 Jun 2013 from 8.30 am till about 10.30 am. The venue is the basketball court at road SS2/34.

In addition to a talk on crime prevention, the Narcotics, Traffic and Crime units from the Police will also set up booths for you to talk to them or gain some insights on what they do. There will also be a booth promoting products on fire safety.

We will also be officially launching our RT Bicycle Patrol at about 9.15 am. The OCPD of Petaling Jaya district has graciously agreed to flag off the patrol and ride together with them around a few blocks of our neighbourhood. We invite residents who have bicycles to join the group for their ride. Who knows; you may just about get your faces on National and local newspapers.

Registration starts at 8.30 am. Please register to obtain your breakfast coupons.

Security

We are aware that a number of residents subscribing to our security scheme, have still not received the whistles, rattan sticks and the portable ‘panic’ alarm device. We will be distributing these items during our Safety Awareness day on 29 Jun 13. Please come and collect them on this day, as we will no longer be distributing them thereafter.

If you are not able to come, please ask one of your neighbours to collect the items on your behalf.

On another note, if you see suspicious persons or vehicles in our area, please advise the guards. The guards’ hotline number is 016 2131232. The name of the day guard is Eman. The night guard is Shahadur.

Bicycle Patrol

We have already started our bicycle patrol. For a start it will take place on Thursdays at about 9 pm. If you are interested, please contact HK Tan at 012 6933717. Bring your own bicycle.

If you do not have a bicycle, you can use our RT bicycles. We have bought 5 bicycles for patrolling purposes only.

If you want to start bicycle patrol on another night, and can gather enough people, please advise Tan.

Normal Foot Patrol

We need more residents to join our voluntary patrolling scheme (SRS or skim ronda sukarelawan). We walk around the neighbourhood for about 1 ½ hours, around 9 – 10.30 pm, on most days of the week. We watch over our neighbourhood while having fellowship among ourselves.

Please join our SRS. With more volunteers, we can increase the number of patrols per week. Please sms or call Tee at 019 9530510 to give your name.

Suggestions

Have suggestions but do not know where to drop them or to whom! Do not worry. Just drop them into the blue coloured security boxes and we will collect them and act on them.

Security Fee

Please note that the fees for the period Jul – Sep 2013 will be due next month. Please complete the slip attached with your payment and drop it in the letterbox at No 57 Road 2/43.

We thank members who have made half yearly/yearly payment as this has helped lighten our administrative work. List of members who have made payment in advance for the period will be displayed at the notice boards at SS2/41 and SS2/34 padang.
