Welcome 2013!

New Home & New Gates!

New Gates!
Security

I am sure by now, that you would have noticed the new ‘boom’ gates in our area. All the drums have been replaced thus allowing our guards to close and open the roads in a faster and more efficient manner. Besides, it also makes for a much prettier sight.

We have great news for all members subscribing to our security scheme. We will provide you with whistles, rattan sticks and a portable ‘panic’ alarm device. You can use the alarm device in your home or take it along when you go for a walk.

Our members will be distributing the items shortly. If you do not receive them, please call any committee member. Not yet a member? Please sign up and you will also get the same items.

As the festive season draws near, it is timely for us to be more aware and security conscious. Although we have guards patrolling the area, do not walk alone in odd hours and refrain from wearing jewelry during your walks. Switch on your porch lights at night and advise your neighbors, the guards and the Police, if you will be away for a long time.

If you see suspicious persons or vehicles in our area, please advise the guards. The guards’ hotline number is 016 2131232.

Family Telematch

About 200 residents gathered for our family telematch held on 3 Nov 2012. We were also joined by our ‘police’ friends, our councilor Tony Cheong, the representatives from Jabatan Perpaduan, our neighbourhood RT friends and not forgetting our friends from Beautiful Gate.

We had a great time during our telematch and the weather too was kind to us (no rain), except it got a little bit hot later in the afternoon.

The burgers and mee hoon (for breakfast) and nasi lemak (lunch) were delicious and plentiful and more than enough for second helpings. The famous cendol was really thirst quenching.

We hope you enjoyed all the creative games that we prepared for you. Almost everyone was a winner and some of you walked away with multiple prizes. The luckier ones, without raising any sweat, managed to win prizes in the lucky draw.

Some residents told us that they really enjoyed the ‘tug of war’ competition against the Policemen. Though the policemen were stronger individually, the combine might of the residents simply overpowered them (ahem, we bent the rules to our advantage).

Thanks to ‘exercise’ master, H K Tan, who took us through our ‘gangnam’ warm up exercises!

Activities for 2013

It is time to plan our activities for 2013. Tell us what you would like and we will do our best to arrange for you. Call any of our committee members.

Volunteers

We are looking for youths to join our youth committees. If you would like to join our youth committee, please sms your name to Edward 012 6691820 and he will contact you.

We need residents to join our voluntary patrolling scheme (SRS or skim ronda sukarelawan). We walk around the neighbourhood for about 1 ½ hours, around 9 – 10.30 pm, on most days of the week. We watch over our neighbourhood while having fellowship among ourselves.

Please join our SRS. With more volunteers, we can increase the number of patrols per week. Please sms or call John Chia at 017 3308351 to give your name.

Zone Bersih and Dog ‘Poo’

Despite our requests in the previous newsletters, the situation has not improved. We still see ‘poo’ on the grass, beside our houses, in the fields and now even on the road.

Please be a good neighbor and collect your dog ‘poo’.

Security Fee due

Please note that the fees for the period Jan – Mar 2013 is now due. Please complete the slip attached with your payment and drop it in the letterbox at No 57 Road 2/43.

We thank members who have made half yearly/yearly payment as this has helped lighten our administrative work. List of members who have made payment in advance for the period will be displayed at the notice boards at SS2/41 and SS2/34 padang.
