Meeting with Security Company
We had a meeting with the Security company on Wed
3 May 2015 at 6 pm, to address all the concerns brought up by residents on the
performance of the guards. We have re-iterated / briefed the security
supervisor and the Security company representative of the responsibilities of
the guards and our expectations of the performances required. We thank
residents who came to the meeting to express their views and concerns and to
offer suggestions.
We will continue to monitor the performance of
the guards. We will make a decision in Nov 2015 as to whether we should continue
with them or look for another security provider.
Installation of Electronic Tracking system
The electronic tracking system will enable us to
check as to whether the guards have been dutifully going around their patrols.
We will be able to see whether they clock in at all the planned locations and
also whether there are any long periods of unauthorized activity.
The committee was not entirely satisfied with the
initial system proposed (we need to manually update the data in our laptop) and
has requested the security company to provide us with an improved online
version of the proposed system.
We are still in negotiation with the company on
the cost of installation of the improved revised online tracking system. We
will update you later of the outcome.
We request residents not to test whether the
guards are doing their duty by purposely leaving their gates opened.
Closure of Roads
Lately there have been requests from some
residents to close certain roads permanently or to have the roads closed earlier
than midnight.
The committee will support this initiative but
will need people to look into the smooth implementation of this initiative. So
far only 1 person has responded to our call to set up a sub-committee to look
into this initiative.
We would like to invite residents (especially
those who have been strongly recommending for closure of roads) to join this
sub-committee. The responsibility of this sub-committee will be to (among
others):
1. Decide on
which roads / lanes can be closed.
2. Decide on
the times for closure.
3. Prepare
suitable communication to residents.
4. Prepare
official requests and meet up relevant authorities to obtain endorsement.
5. Address
residents’ concerns and look into solutions for residents adversely affected by
the early closure.
6. Prepare Q
& A to answer questions on the closure.
7. Put up
suitable signs.
8. Set up a
task team to answer queries / problem solving during the initial implementation
period.
9. Liaising with our Security company on the
implementation.
This sub-committee, which will be headed by Mr
Tan Chai Heng, will need to brainstorm on the best way to get this implemented
in an effective and less disruptive manner.
Please call Mr Tan at 012 2965723, Tee at 019
9530510 or Edward at 017 6691820 if you are willing to be part of this
sub-committee. This initiative can only take off, if we have enough people
to form the working sub-committee. We will advise you of the date of our
first meeting.
Security Alert System
During the past month we have received alerts of
suspicious persons and vehicles in our SS2 area and neighbouring areas. We
circulated these alerts to residents and were successful in 2 or 3 cases to
chase these suspects from our neighbourhood, due to the vigilance displayed by
a few residents after the alert was received. We therefore hope that more
residents will join in the security alert broadcast system.
Refer to section on Setting Up of blogs(see
page 1), for how you can be included in the Broadcast list.
Renovation to Guard posts
We invite residents who would like to tender, or
have friends who would like to tender for the renovations to the guard posts to
contact Mdm Lee at 012 2112035 before 20 Jun 15.
Checking of particulars after Midnight
At the instruction of the Police, we have instituted stricter checks on cars (without security car
stickers) coming into our area after midnight. Drivers will have to provide
their name, IC number and the address of the house that they are visiting.
Please ensure that your security car stickers are displayed.
Please advise your family members, friends and
relatives of this new procedure and please request them to comply. Anyone who
is not satisfied is requested to call the Police at 03 787422 or the OCS
Sea Park Police station Police chief Encik Afandi, at his telephone number 019
3082222. Please do not argue with the guards as they are only doing their
duty.
Distribution of Car stickers
We have distributed three car stickers to each
paying member of the Security scheme. If you have not received your car
stickers, or you need additional car stickers, please contact Mdm Ng at 019
2860948.
