Updates on Neighbourhood Safety

Eversince our RT SS2B Committee & some residents met Chief Inspector Sahar of SEA Park Police some three weeks ago, our neighbourhood has come under 'attack' in terms of attempted house break-ins, threats as well as actual break-ins and robberies! It would thus appear that this recent spate of events is an open defiance to the Police and has also 'cowed' our residents (pardon the expression since this is also the Year of the Ox) into 'hiding' behind locked gates and fences! But as they say, everyday life must go on lah! Last evening was no different when there was a break-in along Jalan SS2/38 at maybe between 8-9 pm! In the same evening some residents alerted each other when they saw 5 burly guys on motor-cycles hanging out at the SS2/41 'pondok'! As it turned out, and after some checkings with the Police, these were actually plain-clothes Policemen doing their rounds. I think this is one example of neighbourhood networking with respect to security and instead of letting the 'suspicious' sighting pass, residents inform each other of what they see! So, in case of doubt, do call the SEA Park Police at 03-78751382 Chin up and look forward to seeing you all at the Residents' Meeting on March 07, 2009 at 5.30 pm at SS2/41 Field; Till then, be alert and be safe!
