On Saturday, April 11, 2009, there was another house break-in our neighbourhood -this was along Jalan SS2/43 and took place when the occupants were out for dinner.
The other recent reported case was along SS2/38.
In both cases, the grilles were forced and broken into, and in the
latest case, the auto gate hydraulic arm was dismantled.
Also, in the latest case, the alarm did come into play as it wasn't switched on.
In both cases, the immediate neighbours were not aware (during the
break-in; they may not have been aware that the occupants were out).
May be a good idea to let your neighbours know when you're out of your
house, especially when you're away on holiday. We need to inculcate
the idea of residents being the "eyes and ears" of their immediate
neighbours.
If the thieves did carry out a prior surveillance of the house, or
area, then someone may have seen them. It is important that residents
report immediately to the police any suspicious characters or
movements that they see. Timely, and if possible accurate, reports
are key to the success of preventing crimes.
