Meeting with Residents on April 25, 2015

We are arranging a meeting to hear views from residents on security. This will be held on Saturday 25 Apr at 3 pm at the padang at Road 2/41.

We would like to hear your concerns and also your feedback on how we can make our neighbourhood safer. Please come and show your support.

Change to Nepalese Guards

This is scheduled for implementation on 1st May as previously advised.
The new rates payable by residents will be effective from 1st Jul onwards.

Closure of Roads

The committee has deliberated on the permanent closure of certain roads as practised by other Residents associations. The committee has decided not to close the roads permanently so as not to inconvenience residents and others using our roads. However it has identified 2 roads for earlier closure i.e. at 8 pm instead of 12 midnight. This will of course be subject to agreement by the residents staying in the affected roads. We will be contacting the affected residents separately.

Security Alert system

The committee wants to broadcast security alerts directly to residents. Unfortunately only those who are on ‘Whatsapp’ will be able to receive these messages. Only security related matters will be sent e.g. to warn residents if there is any suspicious cars or persons hanging around or modus operandi of robberies committed.

We want to assure residents that this is not a ‘çhat’ group. Residents will only see messages coming from the RT authorized member and not from anyone else. If a resident sends a reply to the RT, only the authorized RT member will get to see the reply and not others. Residents can use this platform to send security related feedback to the committee.

Please try it out and if you think that it is not helpful, you can always request your phone contact to be deleted from the list.

Security Patrolling

A number of residents have given feedback that a few guards are not going on their rounds (at different times of the day). At the moment, we have a manual recording system which can be checked by residents. This manual system has a drawback in that the guard can pre-sign the log book. We will be asking the Security company to implement an electronic recording system (in addition to the manual clock-in) which can be used to track whether the guards are actually going on their rounds.

Supervision of Guards

We have also requested the Security company for a local supervisor to monitor the new Nepalese guards.

On a regular basis, we have meetings with the guards and the Security company. Residents are invited to attend. We can send invitations through the proposed security broadcast initiative.

Safety Tips

Please ensure that the area around your residence is well lighted, especially the back lanes. You may save a few ringgit by not switching your lights but it is better to be safe than sorry. If there are trees or branches blocking the light to your house, get them cut.

There is a MBPJ scheme for free LED lights for back lanes. You can go to www.mbpj.gov.my to download the form and submit to MBPJ.

Get a dog. A barking dog is good to alert you of strangers around your house.

RT meeting – Observers

If you would like to attend as an observer please inform any of the committee member. The status of the observer is that he may observe the proceedings in the meeting. The observer is not part of the meeting but can speak and offer views, if invited to do so.
