A jogging track for SS2 folk

RESIDENTS can now use a new jogging track at a park in Jalan SS2/34 Petaling Jaya.
Damansara Utama assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin and Petaling Jaya city councillor responsible for the area Lee Suet Sen attended a ribbon cutting-ceremony to launch the park.

Lee hopes residents will utilise the 220m-long track.

Yeo lauded the efforts of the Rukun Tetangga SS2B, adding that they worked hard to make the track a reality and monitored the progress of the project until it was completed.
“It is important to take ownership of what we have,” she said.

The cost of building the track was borne by the state government (RM18,862) and MBPJ (RM19,800) and took four months to complete.

RT SS2B chairman Edward Sta Maria thanked Yeo and Lee for their support, and also the police.
“With the police presence, residents can use the park freely,” he said, adding that undercover staff would also make their rounds. He added that with the track, it would be safer for senior residents to exercise.

Residents celebrated the new jogging track with a line dance and various games.

On another matter, Lee also advised residents to utilise MBPJ’s free PJ City Bus service as it covers SS2.
“In the future, we hope to provide more routes for Petaling Jaya,” he said.
