Receiving The Award for RT SS2B

The Arrival of Selangor Menteri Besar, accompanied by Datuk Bandar PJ

Welcome

Evening's Cultural Performance
The Anugerah Perdana Komuniti Mampan Petaling Jaya 2010/2011 ( PJ Substainable Neighbourhood )is an effort by Local Agenda 21, MBPJ to encourage RAs and RTs to be involved in developing substainable neighbourhoods in Petaling Jaya.

3 Grand prizes were awarded to 3 best neighbourhoods and 5 prizes for neighbourhoods that excel in the area of social integration; safe neighbourhood; greening initiatives ; entrepreneurship and administrative efficiency, respectively.

Given the constraint of not having a RT centre to carry out activities relating to some of the efforts carried out by others such as recycling, rain water harvesting, entrepreneurship and proper administrative services etc, our RT has indeed done well to earn a second place! Congratulations to the RT team and RT SS2B Neighbourhood !

RT SS2B won for its concerted efforts in promoting unity, greening initiatives and it’s community involvement in security for the year 2010/2011. Do enjoy the DVD presentation posted in our Blog earlier ( also shown during our Christmas dinner )and you can see why our RT deserve to win the prize.

With RT Taman Dato Harun
Yes, it is all our collective efforts and.. yes, to all of our participative residents who caught the eyes and hearts of our judges ! The prize include $25,000/= to carry out projects for a sustainable neighbourhood. We are proud of our neighbourhood….. a caring, responsible, responsive neighbourhood.

We are also grateful to the judges for appreciating and recognizing the strong Good Neighbourliness culture ( it being intangible values) in our neighbourhood.

With Councillor Tony Cheong (in dark suit)

Let us move forward to the year 2012 with cohesive enthusiasm and may our neighbourhood remains a safe, healthy, happy neighbourhood.

Please welcome the new committee for the year 2012 led by Mr Willie Tan and give us your continued support. I shall continue to serve as a committee member.

To RT SS2B with love.

"SS2 folks foster closer ties at gathering"

ABOUT 500 residents of SS2 attended a Christmas and New Year celebration organised by the Rukun Tetangga Club of SS2B (KRT SS2B) recently.

The dinner was organised for the residents to establish close rapport with their neighbours.

KRT SS2B Chairman Lee Kwee Cheng said: "It is good to see all residents getting together. An event like this is an opportunity for the residents to meet," she said.

During dinner, guests were also treated to performances and lucky draws.

One of the residents, Sheriha Abu Bakar, said the residents shared a good relationship.

"This dinner has given us a chance to meet each other and get to know each other better.

"Living in multiracial community, we have to learn live together," she said.

Also present were OCS of SEA Park police station Inspector Gunam Resul Gulam Mohamad, Petaling Jaya City councillor Tony Cheong and MBPJ senior assistant director (Environmental Health) Dr V. Chitradavi.
